As most of you already know, there was quite a hail storm in the area back in mid August. The storm produced golf ball sized hail stones (and some even bigger) that wreaked havoc over Liberty Lake, Greenacres, Otis Orchards, Newman Lake, State Line, and surrounding areas.
What Was the Extent of the Damage?
Hundreds of vehicles and houses were damaged by this storm causing millions of dollars in damages. We have seen hundreds of cars for estimates over the last 6 weeks or so and have been fixing as many as we can. We have teamed up with many of the local body shops in the area and have coordinated repair efforts for those vehicles that need more than just Paintless Dent Repair.
For the luckier folks who have lighter damage on their vehicles (and no problems with the paint finish or over-stretching of the metal) we have been able to get those cars in and out very quickly. We have worked with many insurance companies and their adjusters to make this a seamless and straight-forward repair process.
How Are the Repairs Going?
Dent Viking has fixed hundreds of hail damaged panels over the last few weeks in our new hail repair shop located at 3325 E Quad Park Court in Post Falls (just a few blocks from our retail shop). We decided to open up a larger facility due to the volume of cars damaged in the Liberty Lake hail storm. The added space has helped us increase both our repair times/turn-around times and also the number of cars we can work on simultaneously.
For vehicles with no conventional work needed on them, the Paintless Dent Repair method can speed up repair times substantially. Cars are coming in with dents and leaving our shop within a couple of days dent free. The quick turnaround and straight-forward repair process has made some very happy customers:
Our goal is to take as much stress out of this repair process as possible. We communicate directly with your insurance adjuster and make sure everything is covered!
What are the Benefits of Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)?
Besides the aforementioned time-savings there are many other benefits to our process. Insurance companies tend to be big fans of PDR because it’s quicker, cleaner, and it maintains the vehicle’s value. All these things keep customers happy and keep costs lower.
The PDR process involves a manipulation of the dented surface with steel rods from the backside of the material. The metal is pushed on and flexed from the backside and also tapped on with a small polished blending hammer from the outside. Back and forth the lows and highs are re-leveled with this careful process. We can do this quickly and efficiently with the use of special lighting that casts a reflection on the painted surface. The PDR light creates a topographic-like shadow image for the technician to be able to read the shape of the panel. It sounds complicated but it’s as simple as pushing up the lows and blending down the highs.
